The product does exactly what it is billed to do: it grills sandwiches quickly. The problem is that the grill is very small, so normal grocery store bread is way too big and it hangs out the side. In addition, if you want to make a bigger sandwich, i.e., stacked with several ingredients, the lid will not close and lock without Herculean strength and the risk of burning yourself. It does OK with two small pieces of bread and a small amount of cheese. But, for that, it's just as easy to heat up a nonstick frying pan. It would be, however, handy for students in dorms or others with no access to a stove. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

This is a great little appliance for making good grilled sandwiches FAST! I was surprised that it only took about 2 minutes to grill 2 sandwiches. A green light comes on when they are done, and it's right on - when that light comes on, the sandwiches are perfectly browned. I would have given it five stars, but I think it would be easier to clean if the grilling plates snapped out like some larger sandwich makers out there. Overall, a good buy. A good deal! Popped up on my Gold Box so I got this for less than the price noted. Easy enough for my eight year old to operate. I used thick slices and low fat margarine even though the directions advised not too...but still turned out good (even though the sandwiches are'nt as pretty as pictured!!!). Would be nice if it had an alarm to note when sandwiches are done. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews
