While I usually chop on a plastic cutting board with a big chef's knife, the Cuisinart makes several tasks a lot easier. Chopping cooked or raw meat is one. If you are making hash from leftover corned beef, a short burst in this food processor is the easiest way to go. For mixing certain pastry doughs (pie or pate brisee) this is also a very good item to have, although you have to be careful to go slowly and not overprocess. The one thing the Cuisinart does is heat up the dough if you whirl it around too much, so you have to be careful. And if you put too heavy a bread dough in, using the plastic bread blade, you can heat the shaft up enough to jam the blade onto the central post and that's a big nuisance. However, with these cautions, the Cuisinart is hands-down my favorite food processor and for shredding, slicing thinly or chopping, pretty much the best kitchen appliance for the job. I bought the Cuisinart food processor last Christmas...as a gift to myself. My husband rolled his eyes when I told him I had bought this..he thought this was another gadget that would get used once and then disappear forever in a kitchen cabinet. I absolutely love this machine...I use it almost everyday from chopping vegetables to making cookie/cake dough. It is easy to use...easy to put together and best off all..easy to clean. For the size and the money, this is one of the better buys if you are looking for time- and effort-saving device for gourmets.
This food processor can replace many other tools in the well-equipped chef's kitchen: Mandoline, Pastry Knives, Potato Masher, to name a few.
Since I began using the Cuisinart, I have been able to make well-mixed doughs for perfect pastries and breads, julienned veggies (with a separate julienne blade) for crudites, superb mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin, as well as many other dishes with a minimum of effort.
The only flaw of the Cuisinart line is the feed tube. While the multiple size feed slots make it easy to push anything from full-size potatoes to drizzling oil to make mayonaise, it can be a major challenge to clean due to the multiple crevices in the feed pusher.
Overall, however, the Cuisinart can make short work of the most complicated culinary endeavors, with a versatility to match a whole counter full of manual tools.

I moved to the U.S from the U.K 5 years ago and my first task was to find an electric kettle. I was amazed to see how rare they were and it took a while to track one down.(I was without a computer for a while, so maybe that was why}. I found a great looking one in this product, but was very dissappointed when it died early after 1 1/2 years. I got another one thinking it was just bad luck, but lo and behold. It has just died again of the same problem. The connection on the base gives up. First it will work if you spin it round on the base until the light goes on, but then it just has enough of that and becomes good for nothing. I won't be buying a 3rd. This is an all stainless steel kettle,(I do not like my water being boiled in a plastic container) with the heating element installed UNDER the bottom of the kettle, so no water has direct contact, which avoids build up. Very nice. Heating is very fast, I like using it.The SS quality is very good (high mirror polish) and retains a gleaming shine, if you wipe it frequently.When new,the kettle smeels strongly like plastic inside, as there is a small plastic part indicating max. fill line, this will disappear after some usage. However, there are a few things: The handle is indeed awkward, to empty the kettle completely you need to turn it upside down almost completely,which some people might find difficult to do.The 'ON' lever is very easily hit accidentally on a busy work surface, and the kettle heats up dry, and repeats over and over until it would probably burn out.It happened to me, but cought it on time, since then I always unplug it, which is inconvenient. If you forget to put the lid on, it won't shut off automatically, and will boil dry...(I happen to go back to my desk when using it, since there is no acoustic signal of any kind indicating boiling, this happens frequently, especially when used by different people)Also, partial fill lines inside would be nice, as one always has to guess the qty. you fill in. I use bottled water for tea, so I don't want to pour away much every time. But I get better at guessing.This one is best for the individual user if you appreciate top build quality and classic design and don't mind a few technical imperfections. As soon as my kettle arrived I had it out of the box and set up for use. The instructions say to boil water in it two to three times before use to be sure it is clean. I did this in the time it took me to compose this review! The kettle is attractive, takes up little counter space and has a cord which winds under the base to stay out of the way. It is very easy to use. I'll never have to worry about leaving the teapot on the stove too long any more. This kettle shuts off as soon as the water boils. I am very happy with this product! I purchased the WafflePro 830B (Belgian Waffle version). The waffles are uniformly cooked, and nice and crisp. Love the beeper function it beeps when the waffles are done. No more guessing.
The best part - I added too much batter and of course the batter overflowed past the nicely designed drip edge. Once the iron cooled down I ran my finger around the side of the unit and all of the overflow batter came off easily by wiping my finger over it. No scrubing required. The secret is that the overflow runs on to the plastic body. No metal to burn to and adhere to. The unit cleaned up in a heart beat... Best unit I have seen yet. In the last two months I have tried and returned both the Villaware and the Krups units prior to buying this unit. I am keeping this unit as it is the best, easy to clean, and perfect waffles every time.

The non-stick does not let waffles stick. The automatic ready indicator works for both heating and cooking. The hinge is articulated so the waffles come out with uniform thickness. The edge of the hot part of the iron has a channel to catch excess batter, and, if that overflows, the plastic surrounding the iron has another channel to prevent batter dripping on your counter. The settings for crispness work. The recipe that comes with it is tasty. A perfect product.
The ready indicator has an audible beep, which is great if you are absent-minded before coffee and multi-task while making waffles, but may be annoying to some people.
Don't try to squeeze the batter with the lid, let the weight of the lid do the work. The waffles will generally adhere to the lid more than the base, but peel off very easily if pricked with a fork at the edge, with no waffle bits left on the iron.
